Spring into Summer During SSDW’s Fundraising Weekend

During May 29, 30, and 31, there are three more opportunities to come out and support SSDW for our Spring into Summer Wellness Weekend Fundraiser. Help sustain another year of our events and programming by joining one, two, or all three of our low-key, family-friendly community gatherings. Each event has a separate registration, below.

Reminder: no bad weather, just bad gear.

If it is hot, we will bring shade, water play, and popsicles. We recommend that caregivers bring water, sunscreen, and a change of clothes if kids get wet.

SSDW Director Rachel Bradley has taken lead as Playmaker within the Wampatuck community with a highly attended, free and open Friday play meet up. We want to celebrate the success of this effort for the past year as well as her recent partnership with Scituate Rec, which provides a streamlined option right after school to bring even more unstructured play to town.

Rachel often arrives early to leave the loose parts set up as an invitation to play when the kids arrive and always brings munchkins or popsicles. She has gotten to know a large cohort of kids to select materials around their interests. We appreciate any financial contribution that allows Rachel to refresh play materials and fuel for the fun!

Bring a yoga mat and water bottle and get ready to flow.

Next door at Carriage Nursery House, we’ll be offering childcare so you can focus fully on YOU—stress-free.

Children should be potty trained and able to use the restroom independently. Please pack them a water bottle and dress them for the weather; they will be outside in the gardens and on the playground, rain or shine.

Rachel Bradley, our play guru, will have loose parts play materials for all ages.

The goal of this evening, like most of our outdoor family meet ups, is to let parents connect while kids lead their play. Some children may want to play with rocks and sand during the low tide while other families may want to stroll down to Museum Beach where we plan to order pizzas (or, BYO picnic).

We always welcome new families to join and have many great families that stay in touch but cannot be as involved during the year. So this is a nice night opportunity to catch up. Rain or shine — because a little adventure is good for you.
